The Trade Honours Program will target the development of higher skills to enable tradespeople to achieve the career goals they desire while at the same time meeting the higher skills level required by industry.

The Trade Honours Program recognises that no one training provider can meet the needs of all of the specialised industries involved, therefore, the program is designed to partner with industries and other Registered Training Organisations to deliver tailored training solutions to specific enterprises.

Steering Committee

The Trade Honours Program will be directed by a steering committee comprised of the following membership:

  • One nominee of the SkillsTech Australia Institute Director (Interim Chair)
  • Two industry participants who have students participating in the pilot
  • One other senior Industry participant
  • One union representative
  • One other RTO representative
  • One DEEWR observer, from the Higher Skills Branch, Canberra
